Don’t Rely Solely on the SPF in Makeup

Now that everyone’s more aware of the importance of sun protection, more makeup brands are incorporating their products with SPF. While it’s good to use foundation, concealers, and powder with SPF, they don’t provide enough protection. You’d have to apply it 15 times thicker than usual to get its full SPF benefit. But that’s not a good look.

Before applying makeup, slather broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen on your face, ears, and neck. That way, you’re fully guarded against harmful UV rays. What’s great is that some sunscreens can double up as a makeup primer, giving you a flawless look. You can also purchase an SPF spray if you want to reapply SPF throughout the day on top of your makeup.

Remove Your Makeup Before Bed

No matter how tired you are, you must remember to remove your makeup at the end of the day. Do so with a gentle makeup remover. Your skin will thank you for it. It will be able to regenerate as you sleep, and you’ll wake up looking fresh and healthy. When you leave your makeup on, your skin becomes dry and irritated, making you look older.
