Camp Discovery

Camp Discovery is a special camp for children ages 8 to 16 with severe genetic skin conditions. The week-long camp was founded in 1993 and provides a one-of-a-kind camp experience to about 380 children each year. Every summer, the American Academy of Dermatology sponsors six weeks of camp in five locations:

• Crosslake, Minnesota
• Millville, Pennsylvania
• Burton, Texas
• Andover, Connecticut
• Gig Harbor, Washington

Thanks to generous donations, all costs, including transportation, are provided for the children by the American Academy of Dermatology. For one week each summer, these kids can experience multiple activities such as fishing, swimming, archery, horseback riding, nature trail hiking, and fun with fellow campers, counselors, and medical professionals by their side. Each camp location Is equipped to handle daily medical care regimens and emergencies.

Camp Discovery offers a unique experience where many campers are surrounded by other children navigating similar challenges and skin conditions—from eczema and psoriasis to vitiligo and alopecia, to epidermolysis bullosa and ichthyosis—and Complete Family Dermatology is proud to support the event in any way it can.

Camp Discovery offers a safe, adventure-filled week full of fun, friendship, and personal growth.
